Metal-poor massive stars are responsible for the bulk of feedback in low-metallicity star-forming regions. Yet, results from the fields of stellar physics and wind structure show that these stars probably evolve in curious ways, both in single and binary systems. In this talk, I present a general introduction to the most up-to-date results of massive star research, with a special focus on application in star-formation studies.
