The Galactic supernova remnant PuppisA has been studied extensively from an observational point of view across all wavelength bands. Especially in X-rays the remnant shows a very peculiar morphology. However, the origin of the remnant’s rectangular appearance is still mostly unclear and can only be speculated. In our work, we investigate the evolution of PuppisA by means of Hydrodynamic simulations with the PLUTO code. The aim of our work is to find a suitable model and corresponding model parameters to reproduce the observed properties of the remnant with a focus on the observed X-ray morphology to gain insight on the evolution of PuppisA and the surrounding ISM.
