R.-J. Dettmar, S. Hüttemeister
Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Zeiss Planetarium Bochum

ESERO Germany is the German education office of the European Space Agency (ESA), in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It is operated by a consortium of ten institutions in Bochum, Cologne, and Bonn including the Astronomical Institute at Ruhr Universität and Bochum planetarium. It is coordinated by the working group geomatics of the Institute of Geography at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. The goal of ESERO is the promotion of enthusiasm for STEM subjects among students of all age groups. To this end, space related topics are integrated into school lessons in an exciting and innovative way, and teachers are trained to confidently teach these topics. Interactive activities and competitions provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and develop their own ideas. The talk gives an overview of the current activities of ESERO Germany and the wide range of teaching resources, freely available on a great variety of space-related topics. These include classical worksheets as well as interactive digital apps to be used in a classroom environment. Another focus lies on awareness raising events for the public, showcasing European activities in space.
